We don’t want to play favorites against the other food-inspired days, but National Dessert Day (celebrated every year on October 14) may very well be the greatest. Who doesn’t love dessert? It can be sweet, or savory. It can be heavy or light. Vanilla or chocolate. Or a million other things in between.

Did you know the term “dessert” originates from the French word for desservir, meaning “to clear the table” in English? This is because dessert is served after a main meal’s dishes have been cleared.

In honor of National Dessert Day, we’ve rounded up some of the recipes we’ve featured on our blog, Cooked on Propane.  Each recipe is linked and we encourage you to click and check out the recipes.
