Suburban Propane Employees Drive Community Impact Through Annual Earth Month Volunteer Initiatives

Throughout Earth Month 2026, more than sixty Suburban Propane employee volunteers came together across the country to support environmental sustainability, community beautification, and local cleanup initiatives designed to make a lasting impact in the communities we serve. From shoreline cleanups and trail restoration projects to gardening initiatives and graffiti coverage efforts, employees dedicated over forty hours volunteering throughout April to help preserve and revitalize public spaces nationwide.

Earth Month has long served as an opportunity for companies and communities to reflect on the importance of environmental responsibility and collective action. For Suburban Propane, it also represents something larger: a commitment to giving back to the neighborhoods where our employees live and work, while supporting cleaner, safer and more welcoming community spaces for future generations.

This year’s volunteer initiatives stretched across multiple states and brought employees together through hands-on projects focused on environmental stewardship and community care.

Take a look at the amazing efforts completed by our employee volunteers this year:

  • Titusville, FL: Volunteers joined Keep Brevard Beautiful, to remove litter and debris from Chain of Lakes Park, helping preserve a cleaner, more welcoming outdoor space for residents and visitors.
  • Raleigh-Durham, NC: Employees cleared litter along the Lake Raleigh Greenway and surrounding green spaces, helping maintain safe, accessible trails and protect local natural habitats.
  • Columbus, OH: Volunteers partnered with Great Southern Metro Parks to clean public grounds to help enhance outdoor and recreational areas for the community.
  • Baltimore, MD: Employees removed litter and debris from Franklin Woodland Trails to help preserve a cleaner and more enjoyable outdoor environment.
  • Denver, CO: Volunteers conducted a shoreline cleanup of Sloan Lake and surrounding recreational areas to protect a valued community resource and promote environmental stewardship.
  • Apple Valley, CA: Employees supported the Town of Apple Valley’s Community Cleanup event supporting local beautification efforts and environmental maintenance projects to improve public spaces and strengthen community pride.
  • Coventry, RI: Volunteers removed litter and debris along Flat River Road alongside the Coventry Public Works Department, helping create a cleaner and more welcoming community.
  • Spokane, WA: Employees participated in a beautification project at Duncan Garden to plant trees, flowers, shrubs, and greenery, creating a more vibrant and inviting outdoor space.
  • Penn Yan, NY: Volunteers removed graffiti and supported cleanup efforts throughout the community, helping improve the appearance of key public spaces and supporting local revitalization of historic spaces.

Beyond the measurable impact of cleanup projects and beautification efforts, Earth Month also created opportunities for employees to strengthen relationships with one another while making a direct impact in the communities they serve.

It was a great experience for all of us, it was also a great team building day and helping our local community out,” said CSC Manager Randall Hieronimus, reflecting on this year’s volunteer initiatives and the sense of connection they created among employees and local communities alike.

These initiatives reflect Suburban Propane’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, and corporate social responsibility. By supporting volunteer driven projects across the country, the company continues to invest in efforts that strengthen local communities while encouraging meaningful employee involvement.

As Earth Month 2026 comes to a close, the impact of these volunteer efforts will continue to be felt in the parks, trails, gardens, shorelines, and neighborhoods that employees helped restore and beautify. Suburban Propane is proud of the employees who dedicated their time and energy to these initiatives and remains committed to supporting programs that help communities thrive.
