Celebrating Our 2020 SuburbanCares® Award Winner: Jason Trotter

Meet Jason Trotter, Operations Manager, from our Philadelphia/Telford PA location. He was the recent recipient of our SuburbanCares® Award for going above and beyond to serve his local community.

Jason has been a volunteer firefighter with the Perkasie Fire Company since 1991 and most recently became Battalion Chief. He is a certified Pennsylvania Fire Suppression Instructor and trains new fire fighters and organizations such as the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, NASCAR and Life Path.

Jason has performed EMS services for years and has conducted CPR on over a dozen people bringing them back to life. One of the more challenging, emotional and rewarding experiences for him happened this past January 2020. He heard a call about a single-vehicle accident that was very severe. It was close by so he responded. He found a car that had swerved off the road, went down an embankment and slammed into a pole. When Jason arrived, he found 2 high-school age girls trapped in the car. The driver was in serious condition and the passenger was in critical condition. The car had spun around and slammed into the pole on the passenger side. Jason and one other EMS responder had to act quickly because the passenger’s vitals were crashing. They had to carefully remove the door and do some cutting in order to gain access. They eventually were able to extract her and get her airlifted, but she was still unconscious. It turned out that the passenger had a skull fracture, broken neck, broken back, broken hips and other various injuries that required several surgeries, but she survived. She is doing well now and is starting to walk again.
