Greener Together: Suburban Propane Marks 5th Annual Earth Month with Nationwide Volunteer Effort

From coast to coast, Suburban Propane employees, along with their families and friends – came together once again to celebrate our fifth annual Earth Month. Through local volunteer events, we demonstrated  our commitment to the community and our dedication to sustainability.

As part of our Go Green with Suburban Propane initiative, April is more than just the start of spring – it’s a powerful blend of National Volunteer Month and Earth Day. During this time, our Customer Service Centers throughout the country give back to their community through volunteer events focused on environmental stewardship and beautifying public spaces.

This year, over 60 employees, including people close to them, volunteered this year in activities like litter cleanup, park restoration, and garden preparation. Whether removing graffiti or planting trees, these dedicated volunteers demonstrate how Suburban Propane contributes to a cleaner, brighter future.

Here’s a look at the fantastic work completed by some of our employee volunteers:

Fort Wayne, Indiana: Employees executed a cleanup at Foster Park Community Gardens, by clearing litter and helping spruce up the area, keeping the community gardens green and welcoming for residents.

Vancouver, Washington: Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to revitalize a local community garden, clearing and prepping the shared green space which will bringing new life to the upcoming season.

Liberty, New York: Despite cold temperatures, employees braved the weather to host a litter cleanup at Walnut Mountain Park. Town officials and employees from the Parks and Recreation Department joined the effort, working together to beautify the area for the community ahead of the upcoming season. Rockville, Maryland: Just in time for warmer days, the team cleaned up litter along Hungerford Streams near Dawson Farm Park. Employees cleared debris from the roadside, ventured into overgrown bushes, and collected several bags of trash to restore the area’s natural beauty.

Cortez, Colorado: In collaboration with the local Parks and Recreation Department, employees targeted Denny Lake Park – an area where their efforts would make the most impact. The team collected several bags of trash and debris surrounding the lakes open spaces.

Anaheim, California: Employees teamed up with the City of Anaheim for a special tree and shrub planting event at Peralta Canyon Park and Imperial Park, boosting local green space.

Rutland, Vermont: Employee volunteers acted by removing trash, clearing debris, and tackling graffiti on the bridge in Rutland Creek Path, a local bike trail, to provide a clean and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. Canton, Mississippi: In partnership with Keep Canton Beautiful and The Canton Garden Club, employees cleaned up litter, planted trees, and helped transform a previously neglected area into a vibrant green space. Watch features from local news outlets at WJTV and WAPT16ABC.

These incredible efforts wrapped up another successful Earth Month across the country. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated – your hard work and dedication have made a real difference in the communities we serve and the environment we all share. Let’s continue to Go Green with Suburban Propane – serving communities today, leading the way to a sustainable tomorrow.
