Suburban Propane Supports National Unveiling of Repowered Propane School Buses in Raleigh, NC for Cleaner Air & Lower Cost

The national unveiling of the only repowered propane school buses was held this past July at the Wake County Public School System and included a demo for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Suburban Propane, one of the nation’s largest propane companies was on-site to share their expertise on the repurposing process, and share details of their ability to provide this service for school districts across the country. Instead of schools having to purchase new buses, districts can repower existing buses for a fraction of the cost and take full advantage of clean, domestic propane in buses currently using old, dirty diesel technology. Not only does this save schools money for the technology and operationally, but also provides the children with significantly cleaner air to breathe. In fact, school districts can save as much as 50% by repurposing old buses rather than purchasing a new fleet, which allows schools to put money back where it belongs—in the classroom. Suburban Propane’s Sales Representative for Autogas, Christina Roberts, was on-site at the unveiling. She was available to speak with any attending media about Suburban Propane’s dedication to providing full-service transitions for existing bus fleets, and the financial and environmental benefits of doing so.
