The recent and unexpected California snowfall at lower elevations than normal for the San Francisco Bay area killed power to our FM and Television transmitter sites. Having depleted our emergency fuel after seven days of no power from our utility provider. Besides destroying the power lines in several places, the snow caused a difficult path for delivering fuel. With a prediction of bad weather coming in the next couple of days, our mass communications system was desperate to have fuel delivered to our transmitter sites. This past Tuesday, I drove to the transmitter site to take pictures of the road to send to our normal delivery company - hoping to coach them to make the difficult drive to deliver fuel. As I reached the top of the mountain, I was happy to see Suburban Propane delivering fuel and tanks to other companies nearby. I approached one of the guys with Suburban Propane and sheepishly asked If we could get our tanks filled. Rufino and the Scotts Valley staff went above and beyond to set us up! Rufino and the staff representing Suburban Propane professionally should be a source of pride to their company.

Over the last 6 weeks, we’ve relied on our generator for electricity a 18 days so far. We’ve had to request extra fills since we’re using a lot of propane. Suburban Propane’s office in Scotts Valley has been wonderful. Not only does a friendly, knowledgeable human answer the call, but they have dispatched a truck within 24 hours. After hearing all the horror stories about other providers, we are very thankful we chose Suburban Propane 25 years ago.

You were very timely and did a fast job removing your empty propane tank after we switched vendors. We switched because you were charging us $1 to $2 per gallon more than the other vendors in our area.
