Caring for our Customers and Employees during Hurricane Michael

Team Suburban Propane in Florida has had plenty of practice responding to hurricanes. Fleet & Safety support teams were staged in Montgomery, AL the day before the storm ready to support our customers and employees. In addition to these support employees, we assembled 8 employees near our Gainesville CSC the day Michael arrived. Once Michael had passed through, the team’s response to hurricane Michael was no different than prior storms. The local teams in Pensacola, DeFuniak Springs and Tallahassee in north Florida sprang into action the day after the storm. Our support convoy headed west to the impacted area and immediately began to support our employees and our customers.

Our support staff is still in place and will be replaced next week by new support staff to help our Suburban family in North Florida. We continue to deliver propane for Verizon and other communication companies where commercial power has not been restored. We delivered tanks to set up feeding kitchens to service people in the affected areas.

The Suburban employees in these affected areas have been so resilient and worked tirelessly to support our customers. The support staff that relocated to the areas in need have our greatest appreciation and gratitude. The relief effort put forth by the Florida team has been exemplary.
