Suburban Renewables Attends RE+ Las Vegas

Last week Suburban Propane employees represented Suburban Renewables at RE+, the largest renewable energy event in North America, at The Venetian Convention & Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV. As part of the convention, Horizon Educational conducted their annual Grand Prix World Final.

Suburban Renewables sponsored the Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix World Final, where students (13-17 years of age) from around the world competed in a hydrogen fuel cell car race where they designed, engineered, and built their own 1:10 scale hydrogen fuel cell model cars over the course of several months.

As part of the sponsorship, Suburban Renewables’ logo appeared on the race wall and various standing displays, in addition to receiving its own corporate fuel cell car. The Suburban Renewables Car, which was raced by employees against other corporate-sponsored cars, took home the coveted “Fastest Lap” award.

This year, over 30,000 professionals from all renewable energy industry segments gathered at RE+ to network and build meaningful connections. This was a great opportunity for Suburban Renewables to showcase its renewable energy portfolio of investments in anaerobic digesters, hydrogen production, and rDME (renewable dimethyl ether). As attendees visited the Suburban Renewables booth, they were greeted with information about the renewable energy platform and handed reusable straws made out of wheat straw as a renewable token of appreciation for stopping by.
