On Saturday, May 14, Suburban Propane employees from Clearwater FL, Grass Valley, CA, and Sacramento, CA, joined forces with the American Red Cross for Sound the Alarm events in Tampa, FL and Sacramento, CA. During the half-day events, the Teams installed smoke alarms in at-risk communities, helped develop home fire escape routes, and educated residents on local fire hazards.

The Tampa and Sacramento Sound the Alarm events are part of national American Red Cross initiatives to install 50,000 free smoke alarms in more than 50 at-risk communities during May. Through the campaign, the American Red Cross has installed more than 2.2 million free smoke alarms and prepared more than 2.5 million people on how to prevent home fires.
