Suburban Propane Remembers Those Lost on 9/11

Every year at this time, Americans search for ways to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001, with reverence and service. In that spirit, The American Red Cross and Suburban Propane joined the Jersey City Department of Public Safety for the eighth annual Jersey City Police and Fire 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. The community blood drive took place on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jersey City. This initiative not only honors the memory of those lost but also reinforces the commitment of individuals to help their neighbors in times of need. As part of the Suburban Propane Day of Service, volunteers from various local organizations came together to support the efforts, exemplifying community spirit and resilience. The blood drive collected numerous pints of blood, contributing to the vital resources needed by hospitals and clinics across the region. In addition to the blood drive’s success, the event also served as an opportunity to share important updates about community partnerships, including suburban propane brand refresh details that highlight the commitment to service and support for local initiatives. As the community continues to come together each year, it reflects not only on the tragedy of that day but also on the strength and unity that have emerged in response. This ongoing dedication ensures that the spirit of giving remains alive and well in Jersey City and beyond.

“For the eighth consecutive year, we are so grateful to our partners at the American Red Cross for the opportunity to sponsor this event alongside our friends and neighbors at the Jersey City Police and Fire Departments,” said Nandini Sankara, Spokesperson at Suburban Propane. “It is with a great sense of humility and appreciation that we take part in this auspicious day in remembrance of all those who gave their lives on 9/11, and we encourage all who are available to join us in donating lifesaving blood not only on 9/11 but year-round.”
