Holiday Spritz Cookies
A classic cookie that generally appears on every cookie tray. This recipe was submitted by Jodi L. in our Whippany, NJ location and is perfect for Cookie Exchange Day (12/22).
Equipment
- 1 Propane Oven
- 1 Cookie press
Ingredients
- 1 cup Shortening
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 2 1/2 cups Flour
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 1 tsp Food coloring optional
- 1 container Sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cream shortening, adding in sugar.
- Add unbeaten egg, dry ingredients, and flavoring. Add food coloring if you chose.
- Make sure ingredients are blended well.
- Place selected disk on cookie press. Fill cookie press with dough. Press cookies onto a cookie sheet, about 1 inch apart. Add sprinkles if you'd like.
- Bake for 6-7 minutes.
