Chocolate Delight

This chocolate layered dessert, featuring chocolate pudding, is the perfect way to celebrate National Chocolate Pudding Day (June 26, 2022). Thank you to Alison P. in our Morrisville, VT location for the submission of this chocolate creamy goodness.

Equipment

  • 1 Propane Oven

Ingredients
  

Crust

  • 2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 4 oz Unsalted butter melted

Filling

  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup Confectioner's suger
  • 16 oz Frozen whipped topping thawed and divided
  • 2 packages Chocolate instant pudding 3.9 oz
  • 3 cups Cold milk
  • 1/2 cup Pecans chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Walmuts chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

Crust

  • Preheat over to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and the melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 9x13x2 inch pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely before assembling layers.

Filling

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the confectioner's sugar until smooth.
  • Stir in half of the whipped topping until well blended. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust.
  • In another bowl, beat the pudding with the cold milk as directed on the package (but using only 3 cups of milk).
  • Spread the pudding over the cream cheese layer.
  • Top the dessert with the remaining whipped cream topping and spread to cover completely.
  • If desired, sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts.
  • Chill thoroughly before serving, about 2 hours.
